It’s amazing that Dell released the world’s thinnest compact tablet, not Samsung (its record is 6.6mm in the Galaxy Tab S 8.4) or Sony (6.4mm in the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact). Please note that the keyword in this case is precisely “compact”, since in its thickness Venue 8 7840 identical to the iPad Air 2, that is, it does not exceed 6.1 mm. But the latter has a larger 9.7-inch display, while the novelty has an 8.4-inch one, and the resolution is higher – 2560×1600 pixels.

The apparatus is no less interesting in terms of its filling. The tablet is based on a single-chip system Intel Atom Z3580 with four cores, a frequency of 2.3 GHz and a PowerVR G6430 video chip. 2 GB of RAM does not look very modern for an Android tablet, and the OS itself in it is of the last generation – 4.4 KitKats. Among other features, I will highlight an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 16 GB of internal flash memory, a microSD slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi modules. By the way, note that under the 8-megapixel photo module there are two more photo sensors with a resolution of 720p. They act as a rangefinder, help in high-quality autofocus and allow you to scan 3D objects. All this is implemented in proprietary technology. Intel RealSense.
