Doogee has announced a very unusual smartphone, the selfie camera of which is located in an unusual place.

Deciding to return to the era of slider phones, Chinese engineers have placed a camera under the 5.99-inch screen. Pressing the display with a finger and slightly pulling down, the user gains access to the selfie camera.

Of the obvious engineering flaws, it is worth noting the fact that the light sensor and speaker are also hidden on the display. This means that in order to comfortably hear the voice of the interlocutor, you will have to constantly shift the display.

In terms of design, the Doogee Mix 4 is impeccable. The developers managed to avoid the annoying “hump” and “peninsula” by hiding all the necessary modules under the screen.

As a result, the smartphone received a frameless design and, presumably, a fingerprint scanner that is built under the screen.

Mix 4 will be on sale no earlier than December. In June, the company has planned a big presentation of the Mix 3 flagship, but the release of the “appetizing slider” will have to wait. [The Verge]
