The Association of Trading Companies and Producers of Electrical Household and Computer Equipment (RATEK) has proposed extending responsibility for the operation of devices to Russian software developers.

To the point: Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan opposed the law on the pre-installation of Russian software

The representative of the organization, Anton Guskov, said that now only manufacturers, importers and sellers are responsible. However, they do not guarantee that everything will function properly after the pre-installation of domestic applications.

Therefore, RATEK wants the corresponding amendments to be made to the law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”. In case of errors, all developers should be held liable.

In addition, RATEK wants to launch an annual pilot project to install one non-commercial Russian application, for example, Gosuslug, on one type of device.

FAS is ready to accept any proposals until December 26. By January 2020, an act on the implementation of the law will be prepared. [Коммерсантъ]
