Garmin has announced a new generation of mid-range smartwatches Venu Sq 2. They are designed for fitness tracking and 24/7 monitoring of the user’s health.
The device received a 1.4-inch rectangular AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 × 360 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The watch case is aluminum, the straps are silicone. Only one size available: 40mm.
The watch can track the quality of sleep, stress level, menstrual cycle and readiness for physical activity. There are SpO2 and heart rate sensors. More than 25 sports modes are available, including swimming – thanks to 5 ATM water resistance.
In smart watch mode, they can work up to 11 days, in energy-saving mode – up to 12 days. But when you turn on the GPS autonomy drops to 26 hours.
Venu Sq 2 Music Edition was also shown. They differ from the regular version only in built-in memory for listening to music without connecting to a smartphone. You can store up to 500 tracks locally from services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer.
Both versions support installing apps from the Connect IQ Store. This can be done both from a connected smartphone and from the watch itself. For contactless payments, there is Garmin Pay, but it does not work with Russian cards.
New items are already on sale in the US. The Garmin Venu Sq 2 is available in Grey, Beige Gold and Mint for $250. The Music Edition is available in black, grey, beige gold and peach gold for $300.
