How to recover data from internal memory
In fact, when data—photos, documents, videos, and other files—is deleted, it is not permanently erased. Only information about their location in the system disappears. The files themselves remain in place until new information is written over them. This fact allows you to return even those data that were, it would seem, irretrievably erased.
To restore them, you will need one of the applications listed below. They work best if your phone has rood access configured. It makes it possible to read data from closed system memory sections. But on non-rooted devices, it is also usually possible to find files suitable for recovery.
This application allows you to search and restore photos, videos, images, as well as music, audio recordings and other data. True, you will have to pay for the advanced features of the program.
Download and install DiskDigger, click the “Start a simple image search” button. Then restore the found files to the phone’s memory or, better, somewhere in the cloud.
A slightly more advanced application from the well-known company EaseUS, which develops similar software for desktop PCs.
After installing EaseUS MobiSaver, you need to choose what you want to return – photos and videos, SMS, contacts, call log, data from an SD card, or WhatsApp correspondence. True, some of the functions here are designed only for devices with root access.
An application for recovering deleted photos and videos. In addition, it supports the recovery of WhatsApp conversations and audio recordings. The only but: for the ability to save the found files, the application asks for money. It should be used if other programs from this collection have failed.
This tool can work in trial mode for one week, then you have to pay for a subscription. The program copes with the restoration of photos, audio recordings and videos.
Undeleter works effectively with root rights. Without them, the program is not able to find so many deleted files. However, this app is also worth a try.
How to recover data on an SD card
If what you need to restore was not stored in the smartphone’s memory, but on an external SD card, the chances of successfully recovering the lost data increase significantly. You can connect the card directly to a computer and recreate the information using one of the special programs for reading erased files. Among such solutions are Recuva, Disk Drill, R. Saver.
They recover deleted data if nothing new has been written over it. You can find more such applications in our selection. For example, we will consider the principle of operation of the free program Recuva.
Remove the SD card from your smartphone and connect it to your computer using an adapter or card reader. Then install and run Recuva. Click Next and choose what type of data you want to recreate. Or leave All Files (“All files”). Then click Next again.
Specify your memory card in the In a specific location section, otherwise the application will look for deleted files everywhere. Click Next again.
Activate the Enable Deep Scan checkbox for more efficient scanning and click Start.
When the process is complete, select the desired files, click the Recover button, and specify where to save them.
Most importantly, do not write anything to the SD card before scanning, so that everything goes smoothly.

Keep in mind that even the most advanced of specialized programs cannot always recover erased data. Therefore, get in the habit of making backups using cloud storage so that you don’t have to look for lost files later.
