The Chinese company Realme came in second place in Russia in sales of smartphones in unit terms. Its share in July reached 17%, while Samsung and Apple combined have 15.5% (8.5% + 7%). Kommersant writes about this with reference to MTS statistics.

The first place by a wide margin is held by Xiaomi (including Poco) with a share of 42% in pieces. But much more interesting is the fact that the Chinese brand Tecno came in fourth place – it displaced Apple from 7.5%.

A little more clearly (manufacturer, share in quantity and in money):

  1. Xiaomi (+ Poco) – 42% (35%)
  2. realme – 17% (12.5%)
  3. Samsung – 8.5% (11%)
  4. Tecno – 7.5% (4%)
  5. Apple – 7% (25%)

In total, 2.3 million smartphones worth 36.7 billion rubles were sold in July, according to MTS. The average price of the device for the month decreased by 6%, to 16.1 thousand rubles.

MegaFon also confirmed that in July the number of Realme smartphones sold exceeded the total sales of Samsung and Apple.

Experts note that there are several reasons for such a rise, and the main one is the suspension of direct sales of Apple and Samsung in Russia. The unavailability of the Apple Pay payment service for users and the release of new interesting models from Chinese manufacturers also affected. At the same time, it is too early to talk about any long-term trends, retail representatives added.
